Walton EMC. The Walton Electric Membership Corporation in Monroe, GA, is partnering with Power Partners Solar to encourage its customer-owners to purchase solar water heaters. Walton EMC gives a $400 rebate to customer-owners on systems purchased through the co-op that utilize electric back-up or supplement an electric water heater, or a $600 rebate to those who totally replace a gas water heater. Walton EMC will also loan the money to purchase a system at prime rate to qualified applicants. Walton EMC delivers the system to customer-owners, and after it is installed, it verifies the solar water heater is in place so customer-owners can apply for any applicable rebates and tax credits.
